Club 33

I had the most memorable and best time celebrating my husbands Birthday at Club 33. It felt like a night right out of a magical Disney tale. If you are unfamiliar with Club 33, it is a private club inside Disney Land park. It is for members only and their guests. It was first started (in 1967) to be a place to entertain, wine and dine corporate sponsors, since Walt Disney did not want alcohol served in the park. And to this day Club 33 is still the only place in the Disney land park that still serves alcohol. Disney describes Club 33 in these words “High above the streets of New Orleans Square, hidden from public view and the bustle of a typical day at Disneyland, is a page out of the old New Orleans that even the Creole society might have chosen and cherished as its own.”
This hidden away club is such a gem. It was everything I excepted and more! Upon arriving at the Club (found at the back of New Orleans square) you must ring a intercom button to confirm you are a member and/or have a reservation. Once inside the doors you escorted to the Court of Angels where you wait for your table to be ready and are offered hot tea and a hot towel.
When your table is ready you climb the elegant, winding staircase up to the club. The club includes a member only lounge, merchandise room, dining room and sitting room. All around the club are balconies where I could spend hours watching over the park.
Our reservations were for dinner in the dining room. Each course of our five course meal was better than the other. And in true Disney style the service was impeccable. I loved that we were encouraged to take our time eating, to walk around the club and to enjoy the balcony’s beautiful views.
If you ever have the chance to have dinner at Club 33 I highly recommend it. It was by far one of the best experiences we have ever had and was a night we will never forget.
