Family Friendly Wineries In Napa

by Jennifer | Feb 13, 2017

Last week one of my post were about my favorite wineries in Napa.  I received a lot of questions from fellow Moms asking me about family friendly wineries where little ones would be welcomed.  So here goes, this post will talk about two wineries where parents and kids can both enjoy themselves And they have great wines too.

Sterling Winery

Sterling Winery

Sterling Winery is located 300 feet above the town of Calistoga.  How to get there you ask?  An aerial tram will take you on a 3 minute ride up, on the journey you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Napa Valley area.  The twins were so excited to get onto the tram and defiantly enjoyed their ride up.

The winery offers a children’s pass that includes the cutest tram shape box.  Inside the box are goodies like crayons, a coloring book, crackers, water and juice.  These kiddie essentials will keep them busy on their trip up the mountain.

Once to the top you enjoy a self guided walk thru tour/ tasting.  Which is great for families to go as fast or slow as you choose.  There are multiple seating areas along the way and even water coolers to stay hydrated.

The tour ends on the Terrance that boasts amazing views. There you can continue to buy wine by the glass, a cheese plate or just take in the beauty of the area.  Once your day is done there  is another fun tram ride down the mountain.  The whole experience at Sterling winery was a pleasant one, the staff were very family friendly and the tour was so relaxing and easy to navigate.  Best of all the little ones had fun!

Frog’s Leap

Frog’s Leap

Frog’s Leap Winery is a great place not only for you and your little ones to explore but they welcome your furry friends as well!  Yes you can bring your dogs, how fun is that! The property was originally a frog farm!

The winery offers tastings both inside their beautiful facility and outside.  If going with little ones I highly recommend having your tasting outside.  The outdoor seating is so spacious, great for little ones who like to explore and who can not sit still.

There are beautiful orange trees you can go up to and take one to enjoy.  Walking thru their garden area you will find other surprises like lemon trees and beautiful flowers. And I can not forgot to mention their rustic Red Barn, it is so charming.

The highlight of the twins’ visit were the roosters in their pens.  They watched them from  other the side of the fence in amazement!  After all the exploring the staff offered Savannah and Greyson juice and a frog coloring book! This winery is pretty popular with families so I do recommend making a reservation if possible.  Every family member will enjoy their day at Frog’s Leap for sure.
