by Jennifer | Feb 05, 2017
Today I am posting to raise awareness for American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign. The day to wear red was February 3, but our health matters all year round. Go Red is a national movement to end stroke and heart disease in women. Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in the United States and this campaign helps raise awareness on how to prevent this disease.
One of the best ways to prevent is by knowing your numbers (numbers below are the recommended numbers)…..
Blood Pressure – less than 120/80 mm Hg
HDL Cholesterol – more than 50 mg/dl
LDL Cholesterol – less than 150mg/dl
Triglycerides – less than 150 mg/dl
Fasting Blood Sugar – less than 100 mg/dl
Body Mass Index – less than 25
Waist Measurement- less than 35 inches
Some ways to stay heart-wise and prevent are heart diseases and stoke are…….
Not Smoking
Know Your Family History
Stay Active
Eat Healthy
I highly encourage you to go to American Heart Association’s Go Red site here, to find out more on ways to prevent heart disease, and learn the symptoms of a stroke. There are also ways for your to get involved and educate other women on this important issue. And also be sure to check out Macy’s Go Red For Women Dress Collection debuting live on Facebook February 9.
