My Favorite Napa Wineries

by Jennifer | Jan 30, 2017

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We spent the weekend in Napa. Living so close to Napa is a huge luxury. We try to go at least once a month. In the coming months on the blog I will talk about our favorite wine clubs, the best wineries to go to with kids, top places to stay, delicious food spots and of course some of my favorite wines! So lets get started……This post will feature my two favorite wineries, ST. Supery and Silverado Winery.

St. Supery Winery is one of our favorite wineries not only because their wine is amazing but because the estate itself and customer service is top notch. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and generous on their pours. All of the wines from St. Supery are estate grown and sustainably farmed. A little known fact is the winery is owned by Chanel (yes the luxury handbag giant Chanel).

We love visiting St. Supery because they have an outside drinking/eating area that is so laid backed and relaxing. It is perfect to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the Napa landscape and experience. They usually have complimentary snacks, this weekend was truffle popcorn which we all enjoyed even the little ones. There is even a large open game space out front to play a game called Pétanque (a toss or roll ball game where the objective is to get the ball close to it’s target). Which would be lots of fun to do with a large group of family and friends. We chose to utilize the outside seating this weekend since the weather was lovely and we had the twins with us. The outdoor space is perfect for little ones since they have more space to move around and will not break anything.

The inside tasting area is like a work of modern art, they have an art gallery inside and I love all the jewelry, scarves and wine accessories their  shop carries. Besides tastings they also offer tours where you can see every aspect of the wine making process. We are members of the wine club at St Supery some of the benefits are, a discount on bottles purchased, discounts on tours, free tastings and more.

What we purchased…. since we all enjoyed indulging in the truffle popcorn we purchased the black truffle salt and the premium crimson popping corn to have as a delicious snack at home. We also took home some of our favorite wines we tasted that day, a Rose wine, Oak Free Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Virtu. I love how they pack them in a wine tote to prevent them from clinking around and making them easy to carry. I think St Supery has some of the best white wines around and if you are ever in Napa or see their wines locally I encourage you to try them!

On to the my next top spot, Silverado Winery. Silverado was one of the first wineries I ever went to in Napa and it continues to be one of my favorites. What I love about the winery is it’s views, wines, staff, and history. By looking at the inside you would never know it is owned by Walt Disney’s late daughter Diane and her family. The only piece of anything Disney insight is a single Ratatouille poster.

The inside of the winery is so fun to explore, there are unique art prints, a beautiful huge events space and a barrel room you can personally open the door to and smell the wonderful aromas inside.

The staff at Silverado are so friendly, personable and treat you like family. They gave the twins a book each and some breadsticks to enjoy while they relaxed on the plush couches. This was great since it gave us the opportunity to enjoy our tasting and learn more about the vineyard.

The crown jewel of the winery is it’s amazing, breathtaking views of Napa Valley. They are absolutely stunning and can be enjoyed from the main inside room as well as my favorite spot the outdoor terrace. The terrace area is great to sit down, relax, have some wine and snack on one of the vineyard’s delectable cheese plates.

We are also wine club members at Silverado which gives us the benefits of free tastings, discounts of wine/merchandise and exclusive collections. So of course we took advantage of our discount.  Here is what we got….. a set of adorable heart shape cutting boards/cheese plates. They are so beautiful and I can see myself using them a lot when I entertain. And of course the trip would not be complete without buying our favorites, Sangiovese and Chardonnay. Wether you are a wine drinker or not you will love the stories, atmosphere and views at Silverado Winery!
