Sacramento King’s New Arena Is A Winner

by Jennifer | Feb 06, 2017

This past Saturday night we were lucky enough to attend the Sacramento Kings basketball game against The Golden State Warriors.  We were excited to watch two California teams face off but we were even more excited to see the team’s new arena.  The Golden 1 Center opened this past September and is nothing less than fabulous and state of the art.  The arena is located right in Downtown Sacramento and building of a new hotel and shops are ongoing to around the arena.  Getting to the arena was super simple and the parking garage is directly across the street and a very short walk to the Golden 1 Center, which is a huge plus when you have little ones with you.

Upon entering the arena we loved the supersize video board which is 84 foot long.  Which makes it easy to see no matter where you are located in the arena.  With the large board and stadium seating there is not a bad seat in the house.

We arrived to the game early to walk around and check out the sights.  We were so impressed with all the local eats.  Rather than the typical popcorn and pretzels usually served at arenas 90 percent of the food and beverages served at The Golden 1 Center are locally sourced within a 150 mile span.  There was everything from porchetta sandwiches, to Asian cuisine to wood fire pizza.  The twins’ favorite were the duck fries!

Sierra Nevada a local brewery also has The Sierra Nevada Draught House which is a lounge style area to grab some brews and enjoy the game.  There is even a special King’s beer brewed directly for the team and arena.

I love how the stadium included some Sacramento history and pride by hanging original vintage signs near the food concourse.  It was so fun to see them and learn the history of the city.

The staff were super friendly and sweet to the twins.  They even gave them Kings’ tattoos and stickers which they proudly wore. It was so fun to watch Savannah and Greyson experience their first professional basketball game, cheer on both teams, and dance to the upbeat music.  If you are ever in the Sacramento area a trip to the arena whether it be for a game or concert is a must!
