Valentine Exchange Ideas
by Jennifer | Feb 09, 2020
The month of love is upon us. And we love all things heart, pink, red and of course sweet. It is always so fun to celebrate Valentines Day and show your friends and family how much they are loved. One thing the twins are looking forward to this year is their class Valentine Day party. They are so excited to exchange cards and goodies with all of their school friends. They are in transitional kindergarten so this is their first Valentine exchange. It is going to be so adorable. I remember the Valentine Day Card exchange at my elementary school vividly. It was such a memorable day. Opening each card was so fun and special.
When any holiday comes around our family enjoys making arts and crafts for our loved ones. It teaches so much, like using your imagination, fine motor skills, color and shapes. Plus it shows how much you care putting time, effort and thought into creating. And it is a great way to have family time and discuss our day, what made us happy and what we are looking forward too. Trust me things like this will be treasured memories for both you and your little ones. So this Valentines Day we will be making many DIY crafts, cards and decorations.
The first thing we are going to create is Valentine Mail boxes. We will do this by using old shoe boxes, construction paper, and of course lots of glitter. Grab an empty shoe box, cover it in construction paper and then decorate it. I will let the twins draw on it, add some sticker and glitter. Anything around your house can also be added like yarn, ribbon, tissue papers, etc. Once the box is done a parent can cut a slot for card on the top and easy peasy you have your own Valentine Mail Box. Your child can bring to school to have their cards dropped in (don’t forget to put their name on it ).
I’ll also be letting the twins make their own Valentine Cards this year. It’s always so fun to see what they create and how they express themselves. There are so many DIY card kits out there. Unicorns, robots, card, you name it you can find and make it! Greyson loves monsters so these are the ones he choose to create Monster Valentines! How cute are they! Savvy picked these colorful Pom Pom cards Pom Pom Valentines . I love that no two cards will be the same and can create each card with their friends in mind.
We are so excited to partner with Yowie World and share some of their Yowie Surprise Inside Chocolate, Yowie Bites and Yowie Gummies with the twins TK class. Each collectible animals comes with a leaflet the explains its habitat, threats and where it ranks on the endangered species list. I also love their packaging it is so bright and fun.
